My name is Christian Fernandez.

I'm a Registered Nurse by profession, and while that role allows me to make a positive impact on people's health every day, I've always been intrigued by the world of technology. That's why, alongside my full-time nursing career, I've embarked on a self-driven journey into the realm of web development.

With a keen thirst for knowledge and a knack for problem-solving, I've taught myself the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. As I dug deeper, I found myself engrossed in frontend frameworks like React, and, not satisfied with stopping there, I decided to venture into backend technologies too. I've now built proficiency in Node.js and Express.js, along with acquiring experience in handling both relational and non-relational databases using MySQL through Planetbase and MongoDB.

My most recent adventure was an exhilarating dive into the full-stack framework, Next.js 13. The project was not just an opportunity to refine my skills, but also a means to blend my tech journey with my other passion - photography. What better way to learn, I figured, than to create something that I'd personally enjoy and find useful!

Navigating the path between healthcare and technology may seem an unconventional choice, but I see it as a testament to my inherent curiosity and drive for continuous learning. I'm excited about where this path will lead me, and I'm looking forward to combining these skill sets in new, innovative ways to bring value to my future endeavors.
